Frosty Acres Alpacas

About Our Farm

Fiber enthusiasts who frequent regional festivals seek Jessica Anderson out for the ultra-soft

Huacaya Alpaca she processes into natural and hand-dyed yarns and knit products. Her fascination with Alpaca led to the purchase of two females in 2008. They became extremely sociable under her kind and dedicated care in their first home in Frost, MN. As each of the cria were born over the past 11 years the Frosty Acres herd grew along with her reputation as an approachable, successful teacher of knitting and dyeing. The expanding interests of consumers for information about direct purchasing from farms, understanding about fiber and handcrafting, and agri-tourism activities led to Jessica’s involvement as a founder of North Star Farm tour. She was a driver behind the Farm2Fashion Project and donated a significant amount of alpaca fiber to the 2019 Limited-Edition North Star Farm Tour Sock Project. This year the  14 alpacas, cats and dogs moved to a new farm in Bricelyn where the first agri-tourism events have already been held.
